OSU CEAT Professional Development has been selected to become an OSHA Training Institute Education Center
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced that the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology’s Professional Development department in conjunction with the Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology program has been selected to become an OSHA Training Institute (OTI) Education Center allowing them to offer OSHA courses to the general public.
OTI Education Centers are non-profit organizations that offer training on OSHA standards and occupational safety and health issues to workers and employers nationwide. CEAT Professional Development was selected because of their ability to support OSHA's national training and education mission. Through the OTI Education Centers Program, OSHA offers a broad selection of occupational safety and health classes that aim to provide the knowledge and tools that workers and employers need to identify and correct workplace safety and health hazards.
OSU CEAT Professional Development will be the only OSHA training provider in the state of Oklahoma and will offer training services for all of Region VI which include OSU branch campuses throughout Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and New Mexico.
CEAT Professional Development continues to be a leader in supporting OSU’s Land Grant Mission. This will have a positive impact for educators, employers, employees and students, especially for those located here in the state of Oklahoma. Prior to this, Oklahomans would be required to travel out of state for OSHA trainings.
Clayton Moorman is the Program Director who will oversee the operational side of the program while Leslie Rex Stockel, MS CSP, SMS is named the Instructional Director who will oversee the training to include the instructors and curriculum. Their goal is to begin offering a series of courses by the end of fiscal year 2017.
